Master reset, this will set back to factory default.HOW TO DO A MASTER RESET ON A SIDEKICK 3 1. Remove the battery and the SIM card from the device. 2. Flip the sidekick open; press and hold the letter 'r' on the keypad. 3. While holding the letter 'r', place the battery back in the device. DO NOT INSERT THE SIM CARD YET. 4. The sidekick will restart itself twice. Please make sure not to let the letter 'r' go until it has fully rebooted. 5. Once it has fully rebooted, remove the battery, re-insert the SIM card and battery and power up the device. 6. Once the device has fully rebooted, all prior information should be erased from the device and it should be restored back to the default factoy settings. 40 out of 46 found this valuable. Do you? |

If you're still waiting for the "Welcome" Screen to pop up.. Good luck.. I called Tmobile, the lady told me to hold down the Menu button and "L" at the same time, when you release it'll take you to the home screen, but it won't give you the chance to register it. So every time you tur your phone off and on, the waiting for activation screen will pop up and you'll have to do the whole menu, L key thing again, and again... HAHA

They would only have you press Menu + L to get past the activation screen if you do not have a Sidekick data plan. Otherwise you would be waiting forever and not able to use your device.

Step 1) Call Tmobile from a phone other than the Sidekick. The # to dial is 1-800-937-8997 (Prepaid: 1-877-778-2106).Step 2) Provide the Tech with your IMEI# and the current username listed on the phone. Step 3) Do a master reset while on the Phone with the Sidekick dept. Master reset - Important: All settings reset to factory defaults. Contacts or content are stored on a memory card or SIM card does NOT delete. A master reset forces you to re-download all accumulated account data from the Danger Service. Press the Jump button to access the Jump screen. From the Jump screen, simultaneously press the @ button + 1 button + 0 (zero) button. When the screen turns blank, press and hold the R button. Important: Do not release the button. When four icons appear on the screen, release the R button. Verify that the device turns off, then back on Step 4) Be patient while Sidekick dept releases the old username from the device. Step 5) Reassemble your phone and log in! Issue Resolved! Almost but not quite!!!Soft reset - (SIM card does not have to be removed) Note: A soft reset is often preferable to a master reset. A soft reset causes the device to restart but does not affect accumulated account data or device settings. Simultaneously press the @ button + 1 button + 0 (zero) button until the device restarts.
