You can buy sidekicks already unlocked on ebay, but they have to me gsm unlocked to work for at&t/cingular. Or you can just get a sidekick, and pay for someone to unlock it for you. Aug 23 2008, 4:18 PM EDT actually i know how to unlock it with cingular but unfortunately i am still working on a way to get aim on it heres wat u do... u first put in ur cingular sim... then when u turn on the sidekick it will ask for a code.. type in 1111. then go to settings in the main menu and go to SIM Center.. then scroll to the botom and it should say enable lock... click on enable lock and it will ask u 4 a code type in 1111... then 2 options will appear one will say disable lock and the other will say change sim pin.. click on change sim pin and first it will ask u for ur old sim pin... type in 1111.. then type in a new one underneath (make it 4 digits because it will be easier). Then go back to the main menu and click on settings and go to network options.. then scroll down and click on scan and select manually.. soon a box will appear telling u 2 select a network.. select Cingular or AT&T and ur done Post reply 4 out of 5 found this valuable. All you're doing is changing the SIM security code (which is unique to the SIM CARD, not the Sidekick) and performing a manual network selection. You can do that on T-Mobile. It's nothing at all special. Try doing that with a completely new AT&T SIM card and then try calling your AT&T voicemail. Post reply 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you find this valuable? Do you?

Aug 23 2008, 11:20 PM EDT Also, you may be using an unlocked Sidekick (it IS possible--but T-Mobile will not give you an unlock code, so you have to rely on software hacking). Your data services, however, will never work unless you're using the Sidekick with T-Mobile. I invite you to try your Change SIM PIN process with a completely new Sidekick.
