NO, the USB port on the sidekick iD is for Developers only, it has no function with a computer, just like sidekick 2 and sidekick 1 15  out of 27 found this valuable. Do you?

The USB port is just for the maufacturer's use...the id's don't have an internal memory card like the sk3 and newer models so they don't have the ability to store backgrounds, wallpapers, music, etc...so yeah id's are they very low budget sidekick - they don't do anything! 9  out of 21 found this valuable. Yeah, if you call texting, IMing, calling, web browsing, emailing, organizing, entertaining, flipping, turning off, turning on, making noises, having the ability to change bumpers and being totally cool 'nothing'. 11  out of 16 found this valuable. Do you?

um thats not true. Just about all electronic devices have some sort of memory and the ID does have internal memory. How do you think it can saved the photos you put on there and the contact list, etc? I take it you don't have a ID or any other electronic device for you to say it doesn't have memory. 4  out of 10 found this valuable. Do you?

Having memory is different than having a piece of user-writable memory. Having memory is also different from having a removable memory CARD. The Sidekick 3 (and LX/etc) have a flash memory card slot that, when a card is inserted and the Sidekick is plugged into a USB cable hooked up to a computer with the right drivers, shows up as removable storage. The ID does NOT have this capability. 8  out of 14 found this valuable. Do you?

Nope, no USB cameras for the ID. If you want a camera on your Sidekick, get a different one instead of the ID, really. (Of course, might be too late, but...) 2  out of 12 found this valuable. Do you?

All that you'd be doing is enabling charging it by USB. The ID doesn't have the same functionality as the 3/LX/Slide. 4  out of 10 found this valuable. Do you?

"so..... again. exactly HOW do you take it off..?"
get a kinfe (or something flat and pointy) and wedge it into an edge and just pop it off....
