Download Catalog Missing

Hi,I have just bought a Sidekick LX 2009, have a few issues with it and a few questions Before i get into the issues and questions, let me give u the details that u might need I live in India The device is unlocked (supposedly) Am using it on GSM (1800 GSM) Carrier is Airtel (Most famous in India) On the System Info Page all the applications and Software are of version : V5.1 (I guess thats about it, if u need more details please send a PM) Issues : 1. Am not able to download any application (am able to download pics, haven't tried music files) 2. Am not able to update Opera Mini(current version that i have is V5.1) as well ! i get an error message tat says "Download not Supported" (I am a little confused here as to if it is opera that is throwing this message or is it my carrier that does not allow download of larger files) Questions: 1. Why is the "Download Catalog" and "Community" options missing on my jump screen 2. Is there a way i can install applications on the sidekick with my PC? 3. Is there a PC Suite for Sidekick, If yes, is it Mac compatible? 4. Can i set songs on the memory card as ringtone? 5. What are the supported video format? I understand its a lot of questions and issues. . . i'd appreciate it if anyone can answer any 11 out of 13 found this valuable. Do you? |

Same problem...I want to add one thing I bought T-Mobile Lx2009 which is known as Airtyme Flaunt over here (India).... Plzzz help..... 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

well Ans: 4. Yes you can set Ringtone from your memory card but only below 1Mb... :( :( 5. Supported video format are 3GP and MP4 (MPEG4 only) Plzzz help..... 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

Hey there icedsword,Nice to know that a fellow Indian has a sidekick as well Could you also post the steps as to how to set ringtones from the memory card please? Do u happen to know which software i can use to convert video format?? I am running on Mac OS X 10.6.3 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"yep. I use any video converter ...create mp4 vids with the highest resolutions...u can use them in ur phone(awesome dhd)...dunno about its support with mac all supported files acan be set as ringtone only if below 1mb size PS:the airtyme people modded the phone to remove tmobile download catalog...i can download a few files but surprisingly no jar files and upgrading opera is an option only the 1st time u run it..if u rejected it that time u cant as far as i know(do tell if u find a way around it) transfering games from pc is something yet to be discovered...if someone ever downloads an app into the phone please send me the changed registry entries..i think i can find a way around that stuff 1 out of 1 found this valuable. 1.in the media player with the ringtone highlighted(or being played).press option key ->import as ringtone2.jump screen->phone->option button->settings(with a green music note)->general browse down....incoming call ringtone->import with media player it it had been successfully iported before it will be shown here... enjoy 1 out of 1 found this valuable. how about if i do not get the option "IMPORT AS RINGTONE"is there another way that I can have it set? Also am not able to send/receive MMS any advice on that would be helpful 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

is your mobile the tmobile version or the airtyme version?i am using the airtyme modded version...... if u have that....then u must have that option...scroll down after pressing the option screen(upper left button) mms k liye:- mms->settings->accounts.......select the network profile of YOUR network carrier.(try all of them if there are many.)...if it still does not work...delete a few unneeded ones and contact customer service of ntwrk operator to send u the mms activation settings 1 out of 2 found this valuable.
