Network problems

Okay so I woke up this morning to a classic phone shut off (where the screen locks up and dims and your phone wipes). I took out my battery and put it back in, imported my SIM contacts and whatnot. After I went to check my voicemail, I realized my network isnt on. I tried turning the phone on and off, turning network on and off, scanning for networks and taking the sim and battery out again but it did nothing. I know my phone wasn't shut off (wireless was working fine the night before) and I usually have 3-5 bars in my house. After scanning for networks, no other networks appeared as well. Please help Do you find this valuable?
