I bought a new sidekick off of ebay and when I put my tmobile sim card in there it says waiting for activation when I take the sim card out then i can access the menu to turn of the wireless because i dont have a data plan on my contract when i took it to the tmobile store they could not help me because I didnt purchase from them I just bought the phone because it looked cool and I like the qwerty pad for messaging I have no interest in a data plan can anyone help

Push Menu + L to bypass the "Waiting for Activation" screen. But, the Sidekick needs to have the data plan to function normally. Without it, you'll only be able to make calls and send text (not picture) messages and use non-network things like the camera. Make sure you save any pictures you want to a memory card. If the power goes out on your Sidekick (taking the battery out, battery dies), your phonebook and text message inbox go bye-bye, except for information saved on your SIM card.
