Sidekick LX SD Card not responding/faulty. Please help! =(

I recently got a preowned sidekick LX. upon receiving the phone, i had a inputted a micro SD card but the phone says "memory card faulty" on top of that, upon inserting the SD card, it wouldn't lock in! i had to manually stick a finger there to prevent this SD card from popping out. i tried with another micro SD card but sill it doesn't read.

to make matters worse, i connected the Sidekick to my laptop (2weeks old - which also means it cant be the laptop's problem) and all it does is charge! i cant detect it, nothing! the only thing which is working is the bluetooth which i manage to transfer some picture files to my laptop.

I've also gotten the sidekick imported as my home country (Singapore - not part of China just FYI) do not carry this model or any sidekicks in the first place. (only blackberry), which means i cant possibly fly the barely 2 mths old sidekick back for servicing as there isn't any support service from my country.

please advice! desperately need help. Do you find this valuable?
