Phone Blackout

my phone keeps randomly blacking out. it will be in the middle of the day and i willpush a button--so the "tmobile sidekick" phone lock screen would come on--to see if i have a new message, but the screen will remain dark, but the light will flash blue or green still and no matter how many buttons i push it will remain dark. Afterwards, either of two things happen: 1)i wait for the phone to come back on after 20-30 min (sometimes it has taken a few hours) or 2) i have to resort to taking out the battery and resetting it myself. But no matter which step happens, the phone ends up deleting all of its memory bc i'm not hooked up to the service. Does anyone know if this is a phone defect and how i should approach to get it fixed? or is this a regular occurance for the sidekick LX?

The phone itself does hav smoe problems, as for this problem, it doesnt sound like a major problem. I would call t-mobile, i have had multiple problems with my phone, but usually the battery reset fixes it for a loooooong time. The phone u have is probably defective on a rare case where it doesnt stop ;) but call, or go to the store, phone insurance and the data plan is the way to go ;)

omfg. it isnt just me? happens to me allll the time, and t mo says they wont replace it cuz i need the sidekick internet package. i told them that i was not paying an extra 40 bucks a month for something i cant use in my area. they would not replace the sidekick slide, so i went and bought a new phone.i now have a Sidekick ID [i really love the sidekicks, i dont wanna get anything else] and ALL was good.. until this morning, when it happened to my new phone... i got a few phone calls last night and figured oh, i'll check em in the morn... i dont wanna wake up and talk so i pick up phone this morn, BLACK SCREEN. blue alert, meaning i have texts AND calls... i know i had at least 4 calls and 8 txts.. but anyways, i waited for 2 hours, gave up, pulled out battery, of course, doing a hard reset. phone deletes everything. so i came online to see who else is having these problems... turns out basically any tmobile smart phone or sidekick has these problems. what should we do? switch to verizon. Do you find this valuable? |

i'm with you. 40 extra bucks for something i won't be able to use even half the time. but a nifty trick when it blacks out. you need to call it as soon as you can. then the screen comes back on and then all the memory is saved :)

well, i only have one phone.. i dont even have a house phone.. so i would never be able to call it.. aweee.. but i guess it is good to know just in case it keeps happening and i actually am with someone so they can call me... woot woot
