Text message name...

I just got the new sidekick 2008 ... and how come the names of the text messages I received aren't showing up? It's just their numbers. There's no way I can tell who the message is from until I click on Reply ... is there a way to set the name on the text message inbox instead of the number? HELP!!!!

i have the same problem. the text message things seem to be all messed up. mine doesn't ring or vibrate or anything either when i receive a text message.

that's weird...mine's working just fine, mine did that for a little bit until I imported my contacts from sim........ I don't know if that'll help you guys though. 2 out of 18 found this valuable. Do you? |

If you dont have the sidekick plan on your phone they may not show up. Once I added the sidekick plan after about 2 hours they started showing up.

i had the some prob last night when i got mine...and today it's fine. Tmo said sometimes it can take about 48 hours to fix itself and get your Sk registered to the network.

how did you fix this problem cuz i have the exact same problem and the text messaging is all messed up. its so freaking frusterating. and ive tried alot but none seem to help

Yea ive had the exact problem too. I have the plan except my mom took away my internet "bummer" and ive been trying all the things i can.Well i kinda fixed the sound thing but not the name *still working on*. Well i dont noe if tihs will help but all i did was go to "menu" then "settings" and go to "Sound Profiles". Then i went to the "edit" and ticked the "vibrate" thing on and off and it started to work. But the name is still giving me a headache. ill repost as soon as i can "fix" it.. hope tihs worked for you and good luck 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

wow I can't believe they are forcing you to buy the data plan now just to get the text functions to work properly I totally regret buying this sidekick 08 and being a tmobile customer. I have had this phone for less then 2 hours and i already put it on craigs list. anyways sorry for the venting I just can't believe that paying 15.00 a month for texts is not good enough lol

Once I added the sidekick plan after about 2 hours they started showing up."except i have the plan and it has been doing this to me for a few months and then they came back and then once i turned my phone off and back on its back to doing it again. I even rebooted ( holding the w when turning on) and it didn't do anything on mine but worked on a friend's sidekick. seriously I am done with the sidekick after this. I am hoping me upgrading to the mytouch will be better. Do you find this valuable? |

i dont have that sidekick thing, but i got the problem of the dissapearing names.my solution: go to contacts, options, advanced, copy to SIM greetings 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
