"the update process comes in phases, as mentioned b4 to avoid system/server overload. the 1st phase was only to select LX's which began on 06/17/08 called the Pioneer Stage, to see how the update is accepted on the device. the next phase after taht began on 06/25/08 for the udate but still only a few get them at a time to avoid system issue fro so much data being put out on the danger server (update is from Danger not T-Mobile btw and we have no control over the update process as it is completely randomized ) typical timeframe for the process to complete is roughly 5-6 weeks for all device to receive the update and any new ones as well. same thing happened when the device was 1st up[dated with the Tab Layout for email, if you ever had to replace your lx and had the old way with the folders you eventually got the update with the tabs (or you should)"

"yea i have a friend of mine who works for tmobile and he doesnt know alot oabout the sk department because its supposedl completely diff sector of the company and some other bs i didnt care to listen to but i did get soemthign good out of him. The plan goes like this, basically so many ppl have the lx to begin with it would over run network if every1 got it at once so thats not in option and june 25th wasnt a release date it was a confirmation date they have selected a random group of about 250 ppl so send the ota update to in order to check if it crashes or issues if it needs anymore debugged etc. or even if its worth doing the update. At this point they are going to do the update because they have lost so many clients especially for the sidekick market because as a smartphone, lets face it, it sucks. Tmobile knows that they make us pay for everythign even basic shit that shitty samsung phones come with right out of the box. SO in order to prevent them from losing more customers in an already slow market, they are releasing the ota. My friend couldnt tell me if they already started to release it or not but its def coming its also like someone mentioned above to boost sales with the confirmation of the gekko and tony hawk lx coming the 27th. I called up tmobile sidekick dept just cuz i was curious if i can find out anything else and the lady who i spoke to said the update is coming they have already started to send some out and it may take up to an additional 4+ weeks to get it to every sidekick lx customer....so in short we must be patient "
