i don't think this would fix the problem but it might help to check the sensitivity settings for the trackball.

you can clean it with lemon juice (small amount) or rubbing alcohol not to much to drown the track ball but just a little to whipe.. Somtimes your finger oils can keep the track ball from moving try to keep your hands clean while playing wit your side kick this will pro long the life of your track ball

Try taking it to your local T-Mobile store/kiosk. It's not your fault, you just got the phone, so they should be able to do something.

It's for the slide but works for all trackballs on Sidekicks http://www.fixmysidekick.com/clean-the-trackball-on-a-sidekick-slide/53/ 7 out of 8 found this valuable. Do you? |

My trackball just stopped working too, it goes up and left and right but wont go down. I really have no idea how to fix it.I called t-mobile and they said to call them back from a landline.. I did that but its telling me that it's too late and they are closed. If you figure it out, please post something. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

This sounds like complete BS but heres what i JUST did and it worked!Kinda hard to explain but its so simple, idk. anyways- Put your thumb in your shirt and move the trackball with your shirt and thumb. (With your thumb under your shirt i guess is what i'm trying to say) Hope that helped :) 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

10. I came up with somethin new...
Jun 23 2009, 6:11 AM EDT
OK, i've tried this alcohol thing, and it's only temporary. Your main problem is that lint and stuff packed around the trackball. Think of is as one of those old mice with the ball inside and how to clean them. I used toothpicks to clean them.THis is almsot the same but trickier. Get a regular wooden toothpick. Break it in half where one end is long, thin, and pointy. Gently insert it in the crevice around the trackball and move it around the ball like a hook. This will pull all of that stuff out or at least a chunk of it. That's what I did. I was pretty excited too, i got A LOT out. Try it and be gentle, you don't want the toothpick breaking. Maybe you can come up with your own variation too, like something just as thin and not as breakable like a toothpick. Lemme know. I hope you guys try this, it really helps a lot. :) 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Use a toothepick. I did rubbing alchohal, it kind of worked, but then do the toothepick, it makes it work perfectly!

This is what I did and it works but its NOT RECOMMENDED I took the sidekick apart and pulled the trackball out and used one of those high powered air things for keyboard cleaning and blasted all the dirt from under the rollers and used a toothpick to get all the stubborn dirt out and it works fine now Do you find this valuable? |
