Typing Text

Type text by pressing the keyboard keys.

Copying and Pasting Text

To copy and paste text, perform the following steps:

1. Position the cursor next to the text you want to copy.

2. To highlight the desired text, press and hold the Shift key, and then scroll right or left.

3. Press the Menu key.

4. Scroll to and select Edit Text.

5. Scroll to and select Copy.

6. Position the cursor at the point where you want to insert the copied text.

7. Press the Menu key.

8. Scroll to and select Edit Text.

9. Select Paste.

Cutting and Pasting Text

To cut and paste text, perform the following steps:

1. Position the cursor next to the text you want to copy.

2. To highlight the desired text, press and hold the Shift key, and then scroll right or left.

3. Press the Menu key.

4. Scroll to and select Edit Text.

5. Select Cut.

6. Position the cursor at the point where you want to insert the copied text.

7. Press the Menu key.

8. Scroll to and select Edit Text.

9. Select Paste.

Deleting Text

* To delete a character to the left of the cursor, press the DEL key.
* To delete a character to the right of the cursor, press SHIFT+DEL .
* To delete all the characters on one line, press ALT+DEL .

Using AutoText

To use AutoText, perform the following steps:

1. At the Jump screen, press the Menu key.

2. Select Settings.

3. Scroll to and select Auto Text.

4. Select Automatic Word Replacement.

5. To save, press the Done key.

Adding AutoText Rules

To add AutoText rules, perform the following steps:

1. At the Jump screen, press the Menu key.

2. Select Settings.

3. Scroll to and select Auto Text.

4. Select Automatic Word Replacement.

5. Press the Menu key.

6. Scroll to and select New Rule.

7. Type the character combination to be replaced.

8. Type the character combination to use as a replacement.

9. Scroll to and select Done.

10. To save, press the Done key.

TIPS

* To move left, right, up, or down, scroll using the Trackball or the Navigation keys.
* To jump to the beginning/end of a word, press ALT + the left/right Trackball or Navigation key.
* If you make a text edit that you want to undo, press the Menu key +z.
