March, 20, 2007 -- Do you own a Sidekick 3? Then be sure to watch your phone for the latest software update. The Over-the-Air (OTA) software update (officially called Release 3.4) will be distributed to T-Mobile Sidekick 3 customers starting March 20, 2007. The update will take up to 30 days to be sent to all customers, so don’t worry if you don’t get yours right away. T-Mobile cannot give a precise date or time when customers will receive the update, but if you receive yours early in the cycle, please report back on the wiki what you think!
Here are some of the highlights you can expect:
myFaves: The OTA will enable T-Mobile Sidekick 3 to have the full myFaves experience when you choose a myFaves plan. Once you accept the OTA update, just call T-Mobile customer care or go online to choose a myFaves plan and get unlimited calling to those five designated people – to any number in the U.S. The myFaves interface uses icons or photos to keep your five “Faves” top of mind.
Active Address Book: Now you can call, text, email, or IM a friend directly from your address book with the press of the trackball. You can even map their address.
Text message character counter: This feature will help you know when you’ve said as much as you can say in a single text message.
Ability to save photo attachments from emails to a photo album on your Sidekick.
