Photo Album

When I take a photo with the camera, where is the photo saved?
You can save your photos to either the miniSD card you've inserted (called the "Memory Card Album" on the device), or the built-in memory on your device ("Device Album"). By default, photos are saved to the memory card, but you can change the photo's "capture to " location anytime:
  1. Press JUMP When I take a photo with the camera, where is the photo saved? - Sidekick, then press the RIGHT SHOULDER When I take a photo with the camera, where is the photo saved? - Sidekick button to enter the Camera's Capture screen.
  2. Press MENU When I take a photo with the camera, where is the photo saved? - Sidekick and select Capture to > Memory Card Album or Device Album.
You can also create new albums on your memory card:
  1. Make sure you are on the Browse Albums screen. (Press DONE When I take a photo with the camera, where is the photo saved? - Sidekick to return there if you are on the Capture screen.)
  2. Press MENU When I take a photo with the camera, where is the photo saved? - Sidekick and select New Album.
  3. The New Album dialog box opens. Type a name, then press DONE When I take a photo with the camera, where is the photo saved? - Sidekick.
  4. Your new album appears on the Browse Albums screen and is available as a "Capture to" location in the menu.
Your Device Album can store up to 1.75M of photos. Your Memory Card Album, which resides on the miniSD card, can hold as many photos as the card capacity allows. Remember, you may be sharing the card's capacity with music (.MP3) files.

How can I tell how many more photos I can take?
The Camera can store photos in two locations: the inserted miniSD card, or the built-in device memory. Each has a different capacity for storing photos.

  1. From the Browse Albums screen, highlight the Memory Card Album, or another album that is on the miniSD card.
  2. Look at the left side of the title bar. The second line, under Camera, is "number remaining". That number is how many photos you can still save to your memory card, assuming you don't change the size of the photos you capture.
  3. Roll the TRACKBALL How can I tell how many more photos I can take? - Sidekick to highlight your Device Album. The title bar will tell you how many photos you can save to the device, again assuming you don't change the size of the photos you capture. (The larger the photo size, the fewer you can store.)

How can I adjust the size of my photos?

  1. Press the RIGHT SHOULDER How can I adjust the size of my photos? - Sidekick button to enter the Capture screen.
  2. Press MENU How can I adjust the size of my photos? - Sidekick and select either Small, Medium, or Large.
  3. To observe the change in how many photos you can still take, press DONE How can I adjust the size of my photos? - Sidekick to return to the Browse Albums screen.
  4. Highlight an album stored on your memory card and observe the title bar; do the same with the Device Album.
  5. Notice the number of remaining photos changes as you change the default photo size. The bigger the photo size, the fewer number of photos you can still capture and store.

How do I transfer photos from the device to the miniSD card, or vice versa?
You can move or copy photos among photo albums, space allowing:

  1. From the Browse Albums screen, highlight or select the album or photos you want to transfer. You can move an entire album, a single photo, or multiple photos at one time.
  2. Press MENU How do I transfer photos from the device to the miniSD card, or vice versa? - Sidekick and select Move Photo > Album Name, or Copy Photo > Album Name, as you wish.
  3. A dialog box appears, confirming the move or copy action.
