When I pause a song, will my device still be using extra battery power?
When a song is paused, the music player does not use any battery power. Pausing a song is the same as turning the music player off.
How do I get songs onto my device so I can listen to them with the music player application?
Music (.MP3) files are stored on the miniSD card (also called memory card) that you insert into your device. The only way to get .MP3 files onto the miniSD card is through your computer.
  1. View your miniSD card contents from your computer by doing one of the following:
    • Insert the miniSD card into an external card reader that connects to your computer, or
    • Insert the miniSD card into your device, then connect your device to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. On your computer, find the miniSD card on your computer; it will appear as a removable disk drive. You should see a folder at the top-level of the card contents named “Music”. If you do not see this folder, then create it.
  3. Drag and drop .MP3 files from your computer into the "Music" folder on the card.
  4. When finished, eject the card from your computer. If you used an external card reader, remove the card from the reader and insert the card back into your device. If you connected your device to your computer via USB, simply remove the USB cable.
  5. You're ready to play music!
Note! While your device is connected to your computer via USB, you will not be able to see, from your device, the photos stored on the memory card and the songs that are in your music player Library. For more information on using the miniSD card, read the following topic in the Owner's Manual: Device Basics > miniSD Card Slot.
Why can't I see my music or photos from my device when my device is connected to the computer?
When your device is attached to your computer using the USB cable, the contents of your memory card cannot be read by the device. The assumption is that, when connected via USB, you are removing files from or adding files to the memory card. So, to avoid a conflict (say, sending a photo on your device while you are removing it from the computer), the memory card contents are "offline" while your device is connected to your computer.
