Going from Sidekick II to Sidekick 3

Q: Will the content I purchased on my Sidekick II be available on my Sidekick 3?

A: Starting with the Sidekick 3, content downloads are tied to the device type. This means that any content you download to a Sidekick 3 can only be installed on a Sidekick 3. Therefore, any content you download to another type of Sidekick (Sidekick, Sidekick II) will not be re-downloaded to your Sidekick 3

Q: Will my Address Book, To-Dos, Notes, Calendar, and Emails from my Sidekick II be available on my Sidekick 3?

A: All Address Book, To-Dos, Notes, Calendar appointments, and Emails that have been stored on the Desktop Interface will be available on your Sidekick 3 once you have signed in with your existing username and password.

Q: I just upgraded to a Sidekick 3, and none of my content installed. Where is my content? Where are my purchase records?

A: Any content you downloaded for another type of device (i.e. for a Sidekick or Sidekick 2) will still be available to you should you log onto the network using that device for your account.

However, for the Sidekick 3, you will need to download content that has been ported to and qualified for that device. Downloads made to other types of devices will not be automatically re-downloaded to the Sidekick 3, as the content may not be available in a format for that device.

Q: How do I know what content is available for my Sidekick 3? How do I get content for my Sidekick 3?

A: The on-device Catalog on the Sidekick 3 will only show you content that can be purchased for that device. Therefore, the best way to find and download content available for the Sidekick 3 is to visit the on-device Catalog once you have the device registered.

Q: Will I have to pay to purchase content on my Sidekick 3 that I owned on another Sidekick device?

A: Because the third party content providers incur cost to ensure that their content is compliant with new types of devices, there may be some fees associated to the download of content that you have previously purchased. Where possible, T-Mobile will make every effort to keep these costs to a minimum.

Q: What will happen to my settings, high scores or my application data (i.e. Spreadsheet information, MoneyClip information)?

A: If you re-download a game or application to your Sidekick 3 that you also had for your Sidekick or Sidekick 2, any settings, high scores or data you entered while using that content on your previous device will be available to the version of content you download for the Sidekick 3.

NOTE: If you are going to remove content from any type of device (i.e. for the purposes of selling it, etc.), and you would like to have access to the settings or data from that content on another device, be sure to first remove your SIM before removing the content.
