Hi, if you're having problems with text messages not sounding an alert, that'll happen if you don't have the Sidekick data plan. Pulling the battery out will also WIPE OUT any saved data on your Sidekick, and if you don't have the data plan, there is no backup.

Also, regarding setting ringtones, you can only set up your own ringtones if you have a Sidekick LX 2009. Otherwise, you can't manually add ringtones, period.

Also, Chyna, I have no idea what's going on with your account, but you will need to add the Sidekick data plan and wipe the existing info off the phone in order to register your own account. This is something that T-Mobile Customer Care can help you with, so call 1-800-937-8997 on a different phone for help.

Hi everybody! What a hot week at TMobile!!! Everybody's calling and we have no answers yet...All this begun right after Microsoft acquired Danger (Sidekick Server)...Anything to do? or just coincidence?? Just a few tips for you all!
-Avoid calling several times a day...that doesn't help you, us, anybody...it's OK calling every 48hs to see if we have some news..don't worry about money, we can give you credits for the days you didn't have the service and for inconveniences.
-DO NOT remove the battery or reset the phone (@+1+0+R)..that doesn't help
-If the phone asks for user/password: you can get the username from MENU->SETTINGS->SYSTEM INFO and as regards the password there are different options:
Option 1: Try to use your MyTmobile.com password (if you don't remember it, you can access https://my.t-mobile.com and click on FORGOT PASSWORD and get it as a text message (patience, everybody is using SMS so it may take up to 2 hs)...if you call us we will do the same thing, we don't have the password in our system.. it may take a loooong time to sign in
Option 2: If Option 1 doesn't work, try with the last 4 digits of you IMSI (you can get it from MENU->SETTINGS->SYSTEM INFO).. it may take a loooong time to sign in
Option 3: If options 1&2 don't work (you receive error: Invalid password), Call Tmobile Sidekick Tech Support and explain that you have already tried previous options and it didn't work, ask them to reset the password...The new password will take up to 24hs to work.
-So far INTERNET service is working (eventhough you don't have the G7, it works most of the times)...everything else (addressbook, AIM, Emails, etc...) doesn't work so far..no news about it yet.

Sidekicks are cool i know this. But they have lots of problems. Its starting to get really old.
