Send Contact Information (vCard) via Bluetooth, Text, or Email on the Sidekick LX

You can share contact information by attaching it to an text or email message. The contact information is exported in vCard format (.vcf) so the recipient can save it to their device or address book client on their desktop computer.

  1. From the Browse Contacts screen, roll the TRACKBALL to highlight the contact whose information you want to attach to a message.

  2. Press and hold the TRACKBALL to open the context menu. Select Send Contact to open the submenu.

  3. Select either via Email [sidekick2 - Animals M], via Text, or via Bluetooth. For Email and Text, a compose screen opens with the contact's information attached in vCard format. For Bluetooth, a dialog opens that allows you to select the receiving device.

  4. Complete your message and press Send [sidekick2 - Animals M].

You can also send a vCard from an Email or Text Messaging Compose screen. Simply press MENUsidekick2 - Animals and select Attach > vCard (in Email) or Attach vCard (in Text Messaging). Select a contact from the list that appears and their vCard is attached to your new message. For instructions on importing a vCard attached to a message you receive.

Receive a vCard via Bluetooth on the Sidekick LX

If someone sends you a vCard via Bluetooth, you will receive a balloon notification in the title bar, then a dialog will appear, asking if you want to accept the contact. If you select Accept sidekick2 - Animals, the vCard will be saved to your Address Book.

Note: Some applications allow you to export multiple contact information to a single vCard file. If you receive one of these multiple-card vCards via Bluetooth, your device will only import the first card in the file.
