Your device comes with a miniSD™ memory card slot. You can use your memory card to store:

• .JPG image files that are displayed by the Camera application, and
• .MP3 sound files that are played by the SonicBOOM music player application.

If you connect the miniSD card to your computer via USB and view its contents, you will see that the top-level directory of the card contains two directories that have been created for you: Music and DCIM. Any playlists you create on your device are stored in the Music directory; any albums you create are stored in the DCIM directory. In addition, the contents of the default photo album, Memory Card Album, are stored directly in the DCIM directory.

Tip: To get the most out our your card's capacity, store files in directories (folders). This means:

• For music files, when copying .MP3 files to your memory card, go into the Music folder and create subfolders that organize your music by artist, album, or some other criteria. In other words, don't copy all your music files into the same folder.

• For image files, from the Camera, create albums to organize your photos. Don't keep all photos in the default Memory Card Album.

You can name your card and format the card from the Memory Card settings screen. To open the Memory Card screen, from the Jump screen, press MENU then select Settings > Memory Card.

1. To change the default name of your card, highlight the Card Name text field and press the TRACKBALL to drop into edit mode. Your card name must be 11 characters or less and cannot contain any of the following "special" characters: * > ? / | , . ; : + = [ ] < >
2. See how much space is left on your card, plus the card's capacity, in the Card Space group box.
3. To format your memory card (and thus erase all card contents), select the Format Now button. The system supports FATFS (FAT File System) and FAT32.

Note: While your device is connected to your computer via USB, the device cannot read the contents of the memory card.
