Listen know one wants to pay more than 20 bucks for s problem that may persist even with some repair...so I reccommend going on ebay to a member named cellmallonline. They are a legit ebay store that sales all kind of cell phone accessories and one them which will solve your problem is a sidekick 3 cradle charger that has an extra slot to charge the battery by itself. So you can take the battery out the sidekick and charge it with this device separately...so problem solved...you can charge just the battery pop it back in and its done...it might be alittle inconvient to pop the battery out whenever you want to charge...but hey its cheap...the unit runs for $16.95 with a $5.95 charge for shipping and they throw in a usb data cord for the sidekick 3 for free...can beat that.

had issues w/my charging portal....phone working exceptionally well other than having to Magyver the charger and phone-T-Mobile did the exchange and turned around and said their was corrosion that caused this problem...Yet, their SK team rep, said this issue was a defect in the phone....I am being charged over $100 for them not disclosing this to me in the numerous phone calls I spent trying to get this resolved....SK was almost in mint condition when I sent it back...and of course, the liquid damage invalidates the warranty.....but, why don't they disclose that physical damage is liquid damage.....HUH!!!!!??? Sent my complaint to BBB-enough is enough...been w/ them for 2005 and they don't have my best interest!!!!! Wrong company to do business with

I live in new york and i have a sidekick 2 i just bought the 3 but for every single problem i had with my 2 i went to this one wireless store and fixed every problem on my phone for 50 bucks i meen yeah its a chunk of money and everything but i had serious issues where like coffee was droped on my 2 and a part of the inside melted or something like that and for both problems i got charged 50 ..
so my sugection would be to find a local phone repair shop and have them look at it ... this place in new york is th only place i trust with my sidekick they always fix my issues! - John nappp

They actually have stickers / sensors that show whether the sidekick has come in contact with water or not, this is how they are making that determination - not just as an "excuse" to not get you a new phone. Just FYI. So at some point one of those sensors or more has been in contact with water which will definitely void the warranty.

the same exact thing happened to me and I have the insurance. T-mobile sent it back stating water damage. I have argued that I never had water anywhere near my phone but to no avail. I can not wait for my contract to be up. I had this phone for 4 months and now it is useless. Unbelivable. I feel your pain

I guess that is T-Mobile's answer to any of these phones that have stopped charging and the owner doesn't have the phone insurace......water damage. I'm recieved the same answer.

... and yes, I had no insurance. Also T-mo refuses to honor the warranty because they claim it has water damage.
Has anyone found a way to self- repair this? I really don't feel like sinking another $100 dollars into this phone (and I refuse to buy another from T-mobile EVER). |
