This page explains the browse photo albums screen.

The photos you capture with your device are displayed in "albums" on the Browse Albums screen. To open the Browse Albums screen, do the following:

  1. Press JUMP How to understand the browse photo albums screen - Sidekick to go to the Jump screen. Scroll to highlight Camera, then press the TRACKBALL to go into the application.
  2. The Browse Albums screen opens, displaying the two default albums. These two albums are like the email "system" folders in that they cannot be removed or renamed.
    • Memory Card Album - Located on the miniSD memory card; can store up to card capacity. Albums created on the memory card are identified with this icon: How to understand the browse photo albums screen - Sidekick
    • Device Album - Located on the built-in device memory; can store up to 1.75M. The album on the device is always the last album in the list and is identified with this icon: How to understand the browse photo albums screen - Sidekick

  3. You can see the following information from this screen:
    • The left side of the title bar shows the total number of photos you can still store on the selected album (# remaining), assuming you don't change the size or JPEG quality of your photos. Note: Sometimes after taking a photo, the counter may go down by more than one; this is because some photos compress more than others and it's impossible to know how much until after the photo is captured.
    • The right side of the title bar shows how many total photos are selected and their total size (in parentheses). Size is measured in K=kilobytes, M=megabyptes, or G=gigabytes.
    • You know where the next photo you take will be saved by looking for the "down" arrow to the left of the album name in the Browse Albums screen: How to understand the browse photo albums screen - Sidekick (a memory card album), or How to understand the browse photo albums screen - Sidekick (the Device Album).
    • To the far right of each album's name you'll see the number of photos in the album, as well as how many are selected (checked).
  4. To open an album, roll the TRACKBALL to highlight the album (it will be highlighted in yellow), then press or roll the TRACKBALL right. Scroll down to highlight individual photos.
