How to store text messagesThis is a featured page

This page describes how to store text messages.

You can choose to store text messages directly on your device or on your SIM card. When you are on the Browse Messages screen, the title bar shows you the capacity of each.

Tip: Text messages are considered temporary messages. To keep a message, save it to your SIM card.

Here's how to move a message from the SIM card to your device, and vice versa:

  1. From the Browse Messages screen, make sure the folder in which your message is stored is expanded so you can highlight the message you want to move.
  2. With the message you want to move highlighted, press MENU How to store text messages - Sidekick and select either:
    • Save to SIM Card [How to store text messages - Sidekick Y] if your message is currently stored on the device, or
    • Save to Device [How to store text messages - Sidekick Y] if your message is currently stored on your SIM card.
  3. You can move any message in this way in any of the folders on the Browse Messages screen, except Drafts.
