How to request a delivery reportThis is a featured page

This page describes how to request a delivery report for text messages that are sent out.

A "delivery report" is a message sent to your device giving you the delivery status of a text message you've sent. You can automatically request a delivery report when you send a text message by selecting the check box on this screen. Delivery status will be one of the following:

  • successful delivery
  • temporary delivery failure, where an attempt to deliver will be made again per Advanced Text Messaging Settings, "Message Validity Period"
  • unsuccessful delivery, where no attempt to re-deliver will be made

  1. From the Browse Messages screen, press MENU How to request a delivery report - Sidekick then select Settings. The Settings screen appears.
  2. In the General group box, select the Always request a delivery report check box to request a reply by default; clear the check box to not request a reply by default.
  3. Press DONE How to request a delivery report - Sidekick to save your setting and return to the Browse Messages screen.

Note: You can always override this default setting on individual messages by selecting/clearing the Request Delivery Report check box on the Compose screen.
