This page describes how to enable the bluetooth hands-free handset or car kit.

You can make phone calls using a Bluetooth hands-free headset or car kit. For information on using your Bluetooth hands-free headset or car kit, please refer to the manufacturer's instructions. Before placing your call, follow these steps:

  1. Press JUMP How to enable to the bluetooth hands-free handset or hands-free car kit  - Sidekick to go to the Jump screen. Press MENU How to enable to the bluetooth hands-free handset or hands-free car kit  - Sidekick then select Bluetooth to open the submenu. Make sure Bluetooth features are "on".
  2. When you are in your car, make sure your headset or hands-free car device is ready to pair by following the manufacturer's instructions. On your device, go into the Phone application. Press MENU How to enable to the bluetooth hands-free handset or hands-free car kit  - Sidekick and select Settings > Pairing.
  3. From the Pairing dialog box, select your Bluetooth device from the list (you may have to wait a few seconds while the list populates with Bluetooth devices). If prompted, type the device's PIN code, then press DONE How to enable to the bluetooth hands-free handset or hands-free car kit  - Sidekick to dismiss the PIN Code dialog box.

Tip! If you are having trouble pairing with a device, try clearing the AutoTry authentication PIN check box in the Jump screen menu > Bluetooth > My Device dialog box.


  1. By default, your call's sound will go through the device handset. To send or receive your call using a Bluetooth device, press MENU How to enable to the bluetooth hands-free handset or hands-free car kit  - Sidekick and select Transfer Sound to, then select your Bluetooth device from the submenu. Note: You can transfer the call's sound either before or during a call. Use the Transfer Sound to menu option.
  2. Now place your call.
  3. When finished with your call, press END CALL How to enable to the bluetooth hands-free handset or hands-free car kit  - Sidekick .
