Once you've added a contact, you can change what group the contact is in and how you're notified when the contact signs in or sends you a message. To make these changes to a contact, do the following while in the Windows Live Messenger application:

1. If your Contact List isn't displayed, press DONE until it appears.
   
   
2. Scroll to highlight the email address of the contact you wish to edit.
   
   
3. Press MENU then select Edit Contact [ E]. The Edit contact screen displays.
   
   
4. From this screen you can:
   
   
   • Change the group in which you've filed the contact.
   • Set alerts (notifications) for when your contact signs in or sends you a new message.
     
5. After making your edits, press MENU then:
   
   
   • Select CANCEL to cancel all changes.
   • Select DONE to save your changes.
