Before you take a photo, you can set a number of options on the Sidekick from the Capture screen: photo size, flash, and JPEG quality (compression).

  1. From the Jump screen or the Browse Albums screen, press the RIGHT SHOULDER button.
  2. The Capture screen appears with the image currently in focus in the Sidekick "viewfinder".
  3. Select a photo size by pressing MENU and selecting from:
    • Large (1280 x 1024)
    • Medium (640 x 480)
    • Small (320 x 240)
  4. Open the Flash setting menu by selecting the flash iconat the lower-right of the screen. (The icon indicates the current flash setting.) The menu opens.
  5. Select the Flash setting you want: Flash goes off when needed by light conditions. Flash never goes off.
  6. You can make the following advanced setting by pressing MENU and selecting Settings:
    • JPEG Quality - Select the Low-to-High slider to open it for editing. Roll the TRACKBALL right to increase quality (decrease compression) or roll left to decrease quality (increase compression). The lower the quality, the smaller the image size.
  7. Press the TRACKBALL when finished to make the setting. Press DONE to return to the Capture screen.
