Contact a Contact-Sidekick iDThis is a featured page

Using stored contact information, you can quickly communicate with a contact by phone, email, text, or IM message; or send the contact information as a vCard. The quickest way to contact a contact is from the The Contact Details Screen, but you can also do it from the Browse Contacts screen:

  1. From the Browse Contacts screen, highlight the name of the contact with whom you wish to communicate.

  2. Press and hold the TRACKBALL to open the context menu. Scroll to highlight one of the following, then press to initiate the highlighted action. Note that if you have more than one email, IM, text, or MMS address stored for a contact, a submenu listing all possible choices will be available.

    • Call phone number (label) - Switches to the Phone application and place a call to your contact
    • Email address (label) - Switches to the Email application and compose an email to that contact
    • IM name (label) - Opens an IM conversation with that contact. If you are not logged in to the IM client, then the appropriate log in screen will appear.
    • Text phone number (label) - Switch to the Text Messages application and compose a text message to send to that contact
    • Go to URL- Switch to the Web Browser application and open the contact's Web page
    • Look up address - Switch to the Web Browser application and open a map to the address
    • Send contact's vCard - Send contact information in the form of a vCard via Email, Text Messaging, or Bluetooth.
  3. You can also bring up the context menu while in the contact's information screen. Highlight a number or address then press and hold the TRACKBALL. If you open this context menu from a specific entry, you'll also have the option to discard the information.

You can always use menu items to perform these actions from the contact information screen, assuming you have the relevant contact information highlighted when opening the menu.
