Because of PC viruses, I don't want to copy the email addresses I store on my device Outlook ClientThis is a featured page

Can I do this?

Yes, you can, by modifying the field mappings. (Field mappings control how data fields are transferred between your device and your Outlook client.) Follow these instructions to open and edit the default mappings for Address Book. Note that you can modify mappings for Events and To Dos in the same way.

  1. Open the Intellisync client on your desktop, then click the Set Up button.
  2. On the Configuration Settings page that opens, click Configure Applications to open the Configuration dialog box.
  3. Select the Address Book check box, then click the Advanced button to open the Advanced Settings for Address Book dialog box.
  4. Click the Field Mapping button. A Field Mapping confirmation dialog box opens. Click OK to open the Field Mapping for Address Book dialog box.
  5. In the device column, find the fields that hold email values ("1st Email Address" and "2nd Email Address"), then click the arrows <-> to remove the mappings. (To restore a mapping, click the space where the arrow used to be and it will reappear.)
  6. Click OK when you've removed the email address mappings.
  7. Click OK to dismiss the Advanced Settings for Address Book dialog box, then click OK again to dismiss the Configuration dialog box.
  8. On the Configuration Settings dialog box, click Save.
  9. On the Main Intellisync window, click Sync.
