How to put background themes on your Sidekick

Have your downloaded, or generated, theme ready before starting:

    1. Plug your USB cable into your computer and Sidekick.
    2. On the computer browse to the Sidekick drive.
open "My Computer" then select the Sidekick's drive
    3. You will see two folders listed, make a new folder here, name it "themes". (without the quotes)
    4. Open that "Themes" folder.
    5. Copy, and paste the folder containing the theme into here.
    6. Close the files, unplug your USB cable from the device.
    7. On your Sidekick select Menu/Settings/Backgrounds and your new theme name should be listed below the original four.
    8. Select the new Sidekick theme and it applies.

califasmami If you are having trouble with themes...... 9 Mar 31 2009, 3:44 PM EDT by umbilicalauren

.....there is somethingthat I have noticed that might be keeping your themes from loading right.

After extracting your theme check to see if you have extracted a "folder within a folder" meaning if you click on the folder with the name of the theme and you see another folder icon you have a folder within a folder.

If this is the case then just extract the zip file onto your desktop by right-clicking on the zip file and then clicking "Extract to Themename/" where the actual name of the theme will be in place of "Themename" and it will extract it onto the desktop.

Once you have done that, open the theme folder you have just extracted and locate the "inner" folder. Cut and paste that folder into the Theme folder you created on your Sidekick drive and then follow the rest of the instructions and you should be in business.

If this seems a bit vague or confusing I apologize and if you need me to clarify anything just reply and let me know. Hope this helps.

How can I delete the original themes that came on the sk slide? Those themes suck.
