Released October 2007 Hey? The name's Angeli aka BeautifulDisaster411. I own the Sidekick Lx espresso brown in color but also have a little knowlege on the SK Id & SK3. I am absolutely in LOVE with my Sidekick Lx. These are some features & my personal opinions about the Lx... Same swivel screen which makes a SK a SK...it's cool. Crystal clear hi/def Lcd screen, it's F'n Amazing! Love the lights, Lights blink for different reasons Blue= pending messgae Green= device is asleep Red=low battery. Also there are many tricks with this phone, kinda neat. Bluetooth But no A2DP Bluetooth Support 1.3 megapixel cramera with flash, sometimes takes great pics other times too bright, the pic can come out very bright... & now w/ the over-the-air update CAN record video but only 30 seconds. Off the hook email (you can add your other email accounts such as aol) & IM is sweet too (aol yahoo, msn compatiable) QWERTY keypad is nice. Keys are rubber and light up, also they cannot rub off. MicroSD memory card (includes 128mb card) slot for larger memory card (as large as 8 gb!) Easy to use interface includes jump screen, which makes it even more simple. Organizer is Neat & Simple. PhoneBook stores everything you need to know about your callers. MySpace application is Awesome & Easy! Although there is not an option to update your status & moods (which I am not crazy about) But you can log onto m.myspace.com (mobile myspace) from your Browser. Upgraded web browser & enhanced java but I don't find much of a difference compared to the previous SKs. It still not as quick as I want it to be. About the MP3 player? ... Music services aren't supported. Also, you still can't view album art, and there's still no equalizer, no video playback, no over-the-air music, and no external music buttons (besides a volume control). Speaker phone is a plus but sounds like shit which is a big negative for me but whatever. T-Mobile has yet to launch its own 3G network Not WiFi compatiable (Sucks!) It would really be nice to have GPS on this device... Update!!! Now can download GPS onto your Lx via Catalog :) The one thing I don't like about the Lx is the gayass themes in the catalog. I love the Floral Gothica which I currently use. The themes on SKLxThemes.com are F'n ill... When you buy the SKLx it will include the following... Battery Charger Carrying case (kinda whack) Stereo Hands Free Headset & 128mb microSD card Overall the Lx has a snappy performance, It's sleek' it's sexy and I f'n Love it!!! The 09 is actually longer than the 07. www.myspace.com/TrashiBeauty trashibeauty@tmail.com : : TrashiBeauty : : : : 2009 : : The SideKick Lx 09' released May 2009 I just got the SKLX09 in Orchid & Here are my reviews... Absolutely love the color, (I would prefer Magenta or hot pink!!!) But that's besides the point, there is always Ebay :) Swivel Kickass screen!!! Overwhelming LCD , 3.2-inches and 854 x 480 resolution, it’s colorful, insanely crisp. Thin LCD strips above & under keyboard & also on the Swivel screen. That means more cool mood lights!!! The thin LED strip launches an impromptu disco whenever calls, messages or emails arrive. I love this feature! Messaging has always been the Sidekick's forte so of course the keyboard is raised a little more and more spacious... I happen to like the SKLX07 Keyboard so much more though. There is still no fucking Signature Text! This upsets me... You can add a signature to your autotext and manually add it to your text message, but I find that annoying. Blunt edges and a thinner. Let's talk a little about the track ball... Maybe it's just me but the trackball lacks precision BIGTIME. SK rely so much on the trackball that this def sucks. I really think they should have made this one touchscreen and have the trackball optional. Damn that would be so sick! So the 09 has 3G!!! But I honestly think that Tmobile lacks the coverage to support this feature so it doesn't make it worthwhile. But whatever. GPS is also another dandy addition to the Sidekick 09 It uses Microsoft Live Search instead of Google. This is bc Microsoft now owns Danger. ? (makes sense now) ? But you can download this same feature to the Lx07 from the Download Catalog for free. I do find the GPS to be very underused. Okay... APPLICATIONS: Not just Myspace anymore!!! 09 includeds everything I LOVE... Myspace !!! TWITTER !!! yeah boiiy! The LX 2009’s Twitter app puts updates straight on the phone’s homepage, which is something we wish other handsets would copy, but at its fastest will only check for new messages every five minutes. It’s a shame, as the app otherwise includes everything we could ask for: profile viewing, following and unfollowing, & of course that eminently-peckable keyboard to blast out your own tweets! In fact it seems Danger were so busy catching up with Twitter that they neglected to bring their SMS and email apps up to date. The email app will still only allow three external accounts to be added, & the SMS app is limited to 100 inbox messages. But this does not disappoint me in anyway. I'm already used to it. The CAMERA... The 3.2-megapixel camera is a welcome leap in megapixels but won’t replace anything but the cheapest of point-and-shoots. The LED flash falls into the trap of over-saturating closer shots & yet proving too weak for anything more distant, but the autofocus snaps into place reasonably quickly & there’s little delay between clicking the right shoulder-button and the frame being captured. GPS can be used to geotag images - although you’ll need to turn it on first, as Danger leave it switched off by default - & there are options to share shots via MMS, Bluetooth, email or straight to a Facebook gallery. Of course, you can always whip out the memory card or use the supplied miniUSB cable to hook up to a computer. Video is less successful, with highest resolution topping out at 320 x 240 & quality coming in at sub-digital camera level, never mind that of a cheap camcorder. We can now watch YouTube... although the video is choppy. Phone features are serviceable, with a little echo but no noticeable hiss. Those who prefer wired headsets will be pleased with the standard 3.5mm socket, also ideal for using the handset as a PMP with your own headphones, but it’s side-mounted which could present an issue when it's in your pocket. I also forgot to mention you still cannot set music files as ringtones & that still sucks! Okay, so overall the 09 would be a great upgrate for those of you who adore the Sidekick (like Me!!!) I have no comlaints besides the ones listed above. But I love LOVE Sidekicks... & will forever be a fan of them!!! A Taste Of Me...
